I experimented with epoxy stickers, which look much better but I don't like that they stick together too easily, so I might go back to the furniture sliders. Peel off the back and stick on the little hole-punched image. For a while I was using felt furniture sliders - they come in 1" discs, they're cheap (100 for $6 at Home Depot), and they're light. I've tried a couple of different ways to back them. Resize the image to 1" x 1" and just line them up next to each other. Actually, I use the "picture" setting in Open Office. All I do is download art I like, open in it Preview (I'm on a Mac), hold down shift while selecting the part I want so the box is a perfect square, then paste the image onto a blank word page. ![]() It is way better than trying to cut them out with scissors. The benefit to the tokens is that you can pick your own art and make tons of them easily, plus they never have to be folded and broken down for storage.Īs others have said, get a 1" hole punch from a craft store or online. For many years I used foldable cardboard standups, like Steve Jackson Games' Cardboard Heroes, but I got tired of folding and unfolding them and sorting through them. I've completely switched to these types of "token" minis. For 2x2 creatures I've used metal washers to give them some weight, but that can go upwards of 1$ per token, and can be hard to find anything above 2x2. I haven't found any wood discs that are reliably 2x2 inches (or bigger for that matter). The only issue is making tokens for anything bigger than 1 inch can be a problem. They look pretty sweet and I've made literally hundreds for ~50$ all said and done. Get some glue, almost any gluestick will do, and glue the tokens to the wooden discs. ![]() Next, I bought a 10$ 1 hole punch to save time on cutting all the tokens out. A single sheet of paper can fit like 80 tokens and costs anywhere from 10-50 cents depending on the quality of paper. If you don't have a printer (like me) I just used a copy shop and printed them on either cardstock or medium thickness paper. Either make your own or grab the sweet tokens WordUpGangster made and print them out. ![]() You can find them at arts and crafts stores, but are usually a little more expensive and come in smaller packs. I bought 1 inch wooden discs similar to these. To add to this, if you have some time for arts and crafts you can make some pretty legit looking tokens for ~20-30 cents per token.
